Vitamin A Skincare Testimonials

Discover the transformative power of vitamin A skincare through our authentic experiences and glowing testimonials. We know there are a lot of options out there, that’s because vitamin A should be in your daily skincare routine! Find out what we choose to use ourselves.

Vitamin A in skincare is the serum that speeds up cell turnover and stimulates collagen production. It is the serum that gives you a smoother, more refined complexion, and that is why we all love it so much!  Having said that, it is not suitable for young skins or pregnant women.  Those with super sensitive skin can find Vitamin A irritating on the skin, and although you can find Vitamin A in differing strengths and ones specifically formulated for sensitive skin, Bakuchiol is a great alternative and is also suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

When should you start to use this famed ingredient? Vitamin A is a serum that we recommend for those over 30 years of age, maybe late 20’s, who want to see significant results by fighting fine lines, discoloration, lack of elasticity and dull, uneven skin tone and texture.  Vitamin A is one of the best anti-ageing serums available and used nightly together with a Vitamin C serum in the morning, you will achieve some great results.

Meg Product Review

Meg’s Vitamin A Review

“I have played around with many Vitamin A serums over the years, and there hasn’t been one that I don’t like, however, I find that there are two that I keep coming back to.

Osmosis Calm and SkinBetter Science AlphaRet Overnight Cream.

Osmosis Calm is a gentle Vitamin A serum that  not only has all the benefits of a Vitamin A serum but it also soothes and calms the skin, making it a great option if you have sensitive or reactive skin.  This serum leaves my skin looking really refreshed, and I can certainly see a difference in the morning from applying this the night before.  I notice that my skin is clearer and more even, without the blotchy patches that I sometimes have.

SkinBetter Science AlphaRet Overnight Cream is my other favourite, and is more like a cream in texture than a serum.  This can be used as a nightly serum and moisturiser all in one, although I still like to add more hydration after.  This feels super luxurious on application and as with all SkinBetter products, it offers exceptional results.  This is a high end brand that is especially suited to more mature skins.”

Julie’s Vitamin A Review

If you are ready for a vitamin A product that you can trust the results won’t leave you feeling like you’ve been in a wrestling match with a sandpaper glove, then look no further than Osmosis Correct. This serum whispers sweet nothings to your skin while working away quietly to smooth away the signs of aging.

Let’s face it, we’ve all had that one skincare product that felt like it was punishing our pores for crimes they didn’t even commit, I know I certainly have, and recovery took way much longer than I anticipated, so long in fact,  I gained a couple more wrinkles waiting for my skin to get back to normality! Unlike many vitamin A serums, Osmosis Correct is already in retinaldehyde form so delivery into the skin is as smooth as silk, endeavouring to make your skin just that, smooth as silk.

So, if you’re ready to bid farewell to harsh vitamin ‘Aaaaa’,  and hello to gentle ‘a’, do yourself a favour (thanks Molly) and give Osmosis Correct a try. Your skin will thank you, and you’ll wonder why you ever settled for anything less.

Pip Product Review

Pip’s Vitamin A Review

“I have a ‘rosy’ complexion and reactive skin. That means that I have to choose my skincare and anti-ageing gems wisely – and Vitamin A is a very smart place to begin.

Vitamin A has been well known for it’s anti-ageing properties for several decades now. It enhances skin health by promoting cell turnover, stimulating collagen production, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, and improving overall skin texture and tone. Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it. The problem is there are many serums and creams out there. How can you decide which ones best?

To avoid any unwanted skin reactions, I start by looking at the form of vitamin A used. Retinaldehyde is my preference as it’s a more potent and directly effective form of vitamin A compared to retinol (one of the main versions used in off-the-shelf vitamin A serums). It offers enhanced anti-aging benefits with potentially fewer side effects. If I went to my Dr for a stronger prescription vitamin A it would be too much for my skin, so I need something that can be both effective and not as reactive.

I’ve tried two retinaldehyde serums that my skin loves, Medik8 Crystal Retinal and Osmosis Calm.

Osmosis Calm is exactly as it sounds. It provides soothing relief to stressed skin, promoting hydration, resilience, and balance for a visibly calmer and more radiant complexion. Meanwhile Medik8’s Crystal Retinal 3 is a ground-breaking serum formulated with a stabilised form of retinaldehyde that delivers potent anti-ageing benefits, reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone for a smoother, more youthful complexion. These are both silky serums that glide on, don’t have offensive scents and I LOVE applying. The benefit to the Medik8 Crystal Retinal range is that they start from 1 all the way up to 20. So after a few tubes of one strength, you can try the next. Starting every 3rd night and increasing to nightly over time. In this way you can build up to the strength that best suits your skin without crazy reactions. There’s even a version for your eye area, Medik8 Crystal Retinal Ceramide Eye, in the retinaldehyde range, which is awesome!”

Sophie Product Review

Sophie’s Vitamin A Review

“Due to being 22 years old, I have only just started to think about using Vitamin A. My main concern was fine lines developing around the corner of my eyes. I wanted to get onto them asap and use a Vitamin A as a preventative step in my nightly skincare routine. I was anxious about using an eye cream with Vitamin A in it due to the skin around my eyes being very sensitive and I’ve had reactions to eye creams in the past.  I was recommended The Skinbetter Science AlphRet Eyemax. This product is amazing! I have only been using it for a week and I am already noticing a difference. It has decreased the fine lines that had started to develop and made my skin in that area look plum and refreshed.”
