Do you know what I often get complimented on? It’s the skin on my hands. Not my palms, but the backs of my hands. And I was thinking about this today because my mum is staying with us at the moment and she has quite aged hands. I was wondering how I managed to get ‘youthful’ looking hands… Then I realised that for the last few years, I have been applying Aspect Dr Multi B serum to them, every morning after I apply it to my face.  Now why do I put this one on my hands? Well if you have ever received one of our 15ml free Multi B’s in a promotion then it’s not a bad idea to keep it for this purpose, because that is exactly what I do. I use all the little bottles and I just happened to have a lot of them that I grabbed off the shelves when they were too close to the expiration date for our customers. So I started trying to use them up, and I just never stopped.

Aspect Dr Multi B

The result is brighter, less pigmented, more hydrated, more even toned skin that looks fresh and supple. Here is why you get these benefits with Vitamin B:

  • Vitamin B12 helps regulate your skin’s pigment production, protecting it from hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tones
  • Vitamin B3 which improves the appearance of skin overall
  • Vitamin B5 helps to break down oils, which are in the form of triglycerides and cholesterol, making it a great serum for acne sufferers
  • Aspect Dr Multi B Plus Serum is 30ml of high-quality Niacinamide. This is Vitamin B3 and Nicotinic Acid – an extremely effective skin-restoring substance which offers a range of benefits such as enlarged pores, fine lines, uneven skin tones and a weak skin surface. It’s also helpful for congested acne-prone skin as well as dry, irritated or Rosacea skin.
  • Aspect Dr Multi B Plus Serum combines the power of Niacinamide with sea plants which contain a wide-variety of vitamins, including the B vitamins mentioned above. This special combination of all the B’s help to normalise the skin’s pH and increase blood flow to the skin. It also holds in moisture, regulates oil production, prevents pigmentation and soothes inflammation.
  • This serum also allows all your other serums to work more effectively!

One of the last serums I began using in my skincare routine was a vitamin B, and I so wish I had known beforehand its benefits, because it would have been in that aforementioned skincare routine from the very start!

I have been using Aspect Dr Multi B Plus for quite a while now, but I remember upon my initial use being super excited after I had massaged the serum into my skin. I looked in the mirror, and I don’t mind saying, I liked what I saw. There was a glow on my face that I don’t think I have ever encountered before, except maybe when I was 12, and I was thrilled. I mean what product gives you instant gratification like that?!  After doing a little research into the whys and wherefores, I realised vitamin B’s ability to increase blood flow, firm, brighten and supercharge the effects of other products, it was obvious that a glowy effect would occur, but instantaneously?, incredible. So you won’t be surprised I’ve stuck with Aspect Dr Multi B Plus. Of course it may not work like that for everybody. I am certain the other serums I apply were given that extra boost of efficacy, and therefore an increase of glowability was ensured.

So to B or or not to B? Dumb question.

“Okay, so we have lots of vitamin B options, so I thought I’d take you through the ones I’ve tried. Keeping in mind Niacinamide is sometimes used in vitamin A serums also, so it’s worth checking.

Best Selling

Our best selling option is Aspect Dr Multi B Plus – hands down. It’s a great serum and it’s the easy go-to choice with multiple forms of vitamin B included. Of course, it’s not the only choice though. Our second-best selling options are the Medik8 Hydr8 B5 (and intense) options. These are designed to be super-hydrating as they’re a hyaluronic serum combined with vitamin B5 to improve your skins water retention and regeneration. This brand is our move environmentally conscientious brand, and they use dropper bottles and recyclable packaging. I’ve discovered I’m uncoordinated using dropper bottles… that’s just me though.

Luxe Brands

Our luxe options include Osmosis MD Replenish, with 17 antioxidants including vitamin B. It’s designed to help protect and rejuvenate your skin, and can even replace vitamin A while you’re pregnant, breastfeeding or have sensitive skin. I used it through both my pregnancies and loved it as a serum, but I’ve been trying other products as it was all I could use for a while. Now, of course we have Bakuchiol options for pregnant and breastfeeding mums also. CosMedix of course falls into this luxe version, with their B Complex (powder form) that can be added to your serums or moisturiser to supercharge them. This makes it perfect if you already have a favourite morning and evening serum or moisturiser, as you’re simply supercharging their benefits. Lastly Skinceuticals have their popular Metacell Renewal B3. This is a light-weight correcting gel like cream that also includes anti-ageing ingredients to help firm the skin. If you’re balancing hormonal acne and skin ageing then this could well suit you.

All-In-One

Of course, sometimes what we’re after is an all-in-one “I don’t have to think about it” option. This is where the Dermalist range comes in. They have All Serum for morning and Defy (including vitamin A) for the evening. These both contain vitamin B, as well as the other “everyday essential” ingredients we recommend. As the packaging is black it’s appealing for both men and women, and we particularly encourage this option if you find multi-step routines overwhelming.

Yes, I’ve used all these products and they’ve all been great. I’m sure there are more that we have, as we do have LOTS of products for me to get through LOL.  I can’t say I have a favourite as I move between them depending on which brands I’m trying. Sometimes my other products have vitamin B included so I don’t worry about adding more –  such as Societe Vitamin D Complex, CosMedix Simply Brilliant or Osmosis MD Calm (which I’m using at the moment). I’m sure there are more, these are simply the products I’m aware of without searching. If you’re not using a vitamin B already, then perhaps consider if you like pump action serums, dropper bottles or all-in-one products. The Luxe brands have great packaging and formulas that really do feel luxe to use, and of course the price reflects this.”

Nidia’s Product Review

Product Review Nidia

When I first added Aspect Dr Multi B Plus to my skin care regime, I didn’t think about it too much and I didn’t notice any immediate changes. However, a couple of weeks in I realised that my skin had been feeling much smoother, healthier and more nourished. The oiliness in my T-zone was also gone. As it is a booster for any other serums you use, I add it to my other serums and apply them together, morning and night. Suitable for all skin types, this formula contains vitamins B12, B3 and B5 along with a patented blend of sea plants, all designed to fortify your skin. I have found it really soothing and calming and just the perfect addition to enhance the performance of the other products in my skin care regime.
