I’m not a makeup girl at all. Find me at home and my skin will be undoubtedly bare. However, over the last 5-10 years I’ve discovered more times than few, that I like to, as a minimum, even out my skin tones – just a touch and put some colour to what can be at times quite a pale, lacklustre face.
It highlights the good aspects too.
So what do I use when I’m not under my hat working in my garden or walking the beach?
Number one is, of course the best UV blocker, because that is essential every day and so to even my skin tones and act as a SPF 50+ I use the ColoreScience Evenup tinted moisturiser. If I’d like a little more colour I mix some Warm Osmosis Colour CC cream. When I have some summer colour this works really well.
This plus Lippy is all you usually see me in in the clinic. I don’t wear mascara or eye makeup daily as have eyes which love to play up on me. Instead I ask Rosie to tint my eye lashes and when time permits (not often enough) she cares for my brows as well which helps define my “lovely” face. Having my lashes tinted means less mascara and, although I’ve found a mascara my eyes do like in the ColourScience one, my eyes just prefer it if I avoid it. Over the years I’ve come across many women who “can’t” wear mascara and I suspect its due to the gluten in the product which helps to “glue” the product to your lashes. The ColoreScience mascara is gluten free.

Additions to Gaye’s makeup essentials for special occasions
I simply ensure Rosie has Performed her miracles on my eyes, apply the Even up, add a little concealer under my eyes and then I’ll brush California Girl Pressed powder from Osmosis Colour all over, running it down my throat and other visible areas . Finally some fancy contouring with their bronzer and lastly add just a touch of their Coral blush.
I have found over the years that having a good brush set makes all this so much less messy, more accurate and simply easier. I get the job done and feel good about it.
Last is my lip liner, yes, even I have some lip running happening and then my Favourite lippy is the Forget me Not by Osmosis Colour.
