It is a perfect choice for treating all forms of sun damage, reddened faces, ageing skin concerns and, of course for your hair removal needs. Treatments can be given on almost any area of the body.
IPL works on the same principles as lasers. Light energy is able to target specific types of tissue in the skin using varying colour wavelengths. These are converted to heat energy which causes a very controlled response exactly where it is required. Penetration and effectiveness is further enhanced with our Ellipse system of filters enabling very specific targeting with minimum energy giving superior results with less pain and downtime.
The staff at The Skin Care Clinic are specifically trained in the use of the Ellipse machine in combination with IPL/laser safety and technology. They have chosen this particular machine because of its proven results, research, reliability and safety.
Most skin concerns receive optimal results with fewer treatments when combined with appropriate at home skin care. Your skin advisor will discuss this with you at your IPL consultation.
Your IPL consultation consists of a general health, skin review and discussion of your concerns and goals. We consider it essential to ensure you are given the most efficient care, are suitable for treatment and understand what is involved with your treatment and what your responsibilities are. You will be given IPL test doses to ensure at your actual treatment the correct amount of energy is used for optimal results. Allow around 45 minutes.

Hair Removal
Special precautions before and after treatment.
It is important not to pluck, tweeze, wax or use hair removal creams during the four weeks before treatment. This ensures that as many hair follicles as possible contain a hair which can be destroyed. It is also important to avoid tanning (sun, solarium or self-tanning products) before and during the treatment period. Otherwise, our tanned skin will absorb the light instead of your hair. It is also recommended to use sunscreen (min. SPF 30) for a four weeks following treatment.
Do you have Rosacea?
Visible tiny red vessels annoy you?
How many Ellipse treatments do I need?
The number of treatments depends on location and number of the vessels to be treated.
