Aspect Dr – Why The Hype

Aspect Dr is 100% Australian owned and made which is something that is important to a lot of Australians.  Their products are manufactured in Melbourne and they employ hundreds of staff members! The brand has actually only been around since 2007, which is quite amazing, considering the amount of traction it has gained in such a short space of time.  

Their goal is to make your life easier, by reducing the number of steps it takes to achieve healthy, glowing skin.  Their range will plump fine lines and wrinkles, even out skin tone and texture, soothe irritated, sensitive skins and, with the right choice of products, give your skin just what it needs.

 

Ingredient Source:

Aspect Dr uses naturally derived ingredients with as many certified organic ingredients as possible.  Ingredients are sourced globally and within Australia.   While they are not strictly vegan, almost all of their products are vegan friendly, with the exception of a few that contain beeswax.  All ingredients are sourced sustainably and ethically.

 

Active Ingredients:

Aspect Dr makes their products with the highest percentage of active ingredients that can be tolerated and sustained without causing inflammation.  All the active ingredients in the Aspect Dr formulations are stable and encapsulated. They use their own unique blend of Australian indigenous superfruits along with the latest technologies in antioxidants, marine actives and bioavailable vitamins.

 

Delivery Systems:

The active ingredients in Aspect Dr skincare are of a high potency and delivered via liposome technology.  Liposomes are not only an effective tool to help skin absorb active ingredients, but also improve the stability of active ingredients, increase skin hydration by surface adhesiveness, enhance dermal bioavailability and skin targeting, and protect skin cells from external stressors such as UV exposure. Many, actually most, skin care brands, particularly those found in supermarkets and department stores do not use bio-available technology. This means that any active ingredient sits on the surface of your skin, oxidises and becomes unstable.  You may notice a difference in the short term to the surface of your skin, but long term, using products that cannot penetrate the epidermal barrier will not change your skin at a cellular level.  

Laboratory-made liposomes for skin care delivery systems are made like sphere-shaped capsules. The wall of the sphere is made of one or several layers of phospholipids, which are similar to the phospholipids (like a fat molecule) in skin cell membranes. This enables the sphere to penetrate the lipid barrier of skin and deliver the active ingredient into your dermis.  Different molecular weights can be added to ensure certain ingredients are delivered to certain depths depending where they are needed.  For example, vitamin A is delivered deeper into the dermis, whereas hyaluronic acid goes a little shallower into the epidermal layers.

Cleansers:

Starting with cleansers, there are three options to choose from.

• Deep Clean. Our best selling cleanser is suited to those with normal to oily skin. It contains a blend of ingredients that helps enhance your complexion, as well as exfoliate and refine your skin. One of the main ingredients that helps achieve this is a non-irritating botanical retinoid-like ingredient called Lanablu.
• Mild Clean. Designed for those who are a little more sensitive, this contains Canadian Willowherb which will soothe skin.
• AHA/BHA. For those with oily and congested skin, this cleanser uses plant acids to remove impurities and exfoliate dead skin.

Serums:

Serums are the ‘treatment’ or ‘medicine’ in your skincare routine.  They are what targets a specific issue and keeps your skin functioning at its optimal best.  Aspect Dr make many serums, and here they all are:

All rounders

• Exfol A. Vitamin A, or retinol, is the most important antioxidant for anti-ageing.  It exfoliates the skin so well, stimulating new cells to come through faster and feeding the skin what it needs to effect change.  This results in smoother, more radiant and even skin tone.
• Multi B.  B vitamins in skin care are responsible for brighter, healthier skin results. Vitamin B12 helps regulate your skin’s pigment production, protecting it from hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tones. Vitamin B3 improves the appearance of skin generally, Vitamin B5 helps minimise acne by aiding the body in breaking down oils, which are in the form of triglycerides and cholesterol. Niacinamide is Vitamin B3, an extremely effective skin-restoring substance. Niacinamide is effective at improving the appearance of enlarged pores, fine lines, uneven skin tones and a weak skin surface. It’s also helpful for congested acne-prone skin as well as dry, irritated or rosacea skin. Multi B serum will also give your other products a big boost.
• Active C.  Our best selling serum ever! Vitamin C is essential in anyone’s skincare routine, regardless of skin condition.  Vitamin C will restore and replenish the skin’s natural healing factors as well as preventing breakouts and inflammation. It is essential for slowing the ageing process as it is collagen stimulating and it will fight free radical damage from the sun and environmental pollutants.
  

Advanced Results

• Optiboost Complex. Quite literally this serum is like LED treatments in a bottle. It delivers enzymes to damaged skin cells along with a combination of botanicals and hydrators to provide superior antioxidant protection and support skin cell recovery. Ideal for adding to your anti-ageing routine to improve your skin’s natural cell repair abilities. Once you start using this serum, you will wonder how you ever went without it. • Hyaluronic Serum.  Such a favourite amongst our customers who want extra hydration and plumping. The key ingredient in this serum, hyaluronic acid, naturally helps hold water in the skin. It soothes the skin, while softening and balancing. • BHA Purifying Gel.  Formulated with Salicylic Acid, this lightweight gel helps to control problematic skin, blemishes and minimise excess oil to clarify complexion.
• Lanazyme Micro Peel.  This new product from Aspect Dr has been a sell out and it is no wonder, as it has an advanced gel formula containing a powerhouse of Vitamin A, E, and C as well as Fruit Enzymes and Caffeine. • Soothing Balm.  Calm and nourish dry, inflamed and irritated skin with this blend of Hyaluronic Acid, Olive Oil and Aloe Vera, suitable for even the most sensitive complexions.
• Soothing Gel. This gel formula is versatile, and can be used on your face as well as your whole body. Containing Aloe Vera, well known for its calming and hydrating properties.
