Meg’s Sun Protection Review
“I have been looking forward to this review, because I have a good one for you!
Guess what, I am a lover of zinc. I live in humidity, so zinc helps to keep oil to a minimum and mattifies my skin more than a chemical sunscreen does. What’s the difference? Just to recap:
- Physical Sunscreens, such as Zinc Oxide, act as a shield between you and the sun. It reflects the sun’s rays away from you
- Chemical Sunscreens absorb into your skin and they use the sun’s heat and turn it into energy before it can cause damage
I prefer a moisturiser that has zinc in it, so I am not using as many products. This way it’s quicker to get ready and because it’s better for my skin in the humidity to not use as many products. If I am going surfing for the day, then I would wear a chemical sunscreen underneath a physical sunscreen – just to be extra covered.
Note: when applying your SPF, DO NOT forget to cover your ears, eyelids and lips.
For My Face – Medik8 Physical Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30
This is what I am using at the moment and it’s one of the best! Here are some details:
- No nanoparticles, meaning that it will not get into your system
- Broad Spectrum means that I am safe from the UVA and UVB rays
- Absorbs easily with little to no white zincy residue
- Slightly mattifies my skin
- Fragrance Free
- Vegan, cruelty free, ocean safe and all in recycled packaging!
For My Body – Aspect Envirostat on the Go SPF 50+
This is what I use when I need extra sunscreen if I’m in the water.
- Broad Spectrum Chemical Sunscreen (this does not mean that it is full of toxic chemicals). Chemical sunscreen just means that it has a chemical reaction with your skin
- Fast drying and dry to the touch
- Good to use on your kids
- 4 hours water resistant
- Vegan, cruelty free, ocean safe!
- Excellent handy toggle so you can attach it to your beach bag or your kids school bag
For My Lips
I have been sunburnt on my bottom lip three times in as many years, and every time it nearly ruins my life. I can’t eat, it scabs and takes so long to heal and it is so painful and unsightly. The times it has happened, I’ve been in the water for longer than I anticipated, and didn’t apply a SPF to my lips. Lips are such a common area to suffer skin cancers, especially once you get older. I am SO HAPPY that we now stock the We Are Feel Good SPF range and their SPF 50+ lip balm is my new best friend. It’s huge, feels really moisturising and it lasts for hours. I love it, and it’s such a great gift to give as a present.
WORLDS BIGGEST MYTH
You can’t tan if you’re wearing sunscreen.
THE TRUTH
Yes you can! Although it won’t be as much, you can still get a lovely tan while wearing SPF. And as my mother always said ‘No-one’s going to see your tan if you’re dead in a grave’. Very dramatic mum, but we will take your sun safe message on board!”

Julie’s Sun Protection Review
“I know for a fact, I would be mistaken as a twin sister to the green witch from The Wizard of Oz, if I had not begun to use sunscreen religiously every day, over 30 years ago. I would have been THAT sister, the brown witch from Oz. It’s definitely helped. I honestly don’t mind if it’s a chemical sunscreen or a physical sunblock, when it comes to protection. At the moment I’m using one of my all time favourite daytime moisturisers in Aspect Dr Hydra Shield which has a physical sunscreen, using zinc. If I am going into work or out for lunch etc (sorry lockdown states😢) I’ll use the Aspect Sun CC Cream which has an SPF 50, so a chemical sunscreen. There are so many options these days, and for face and body, our new range from We Are Feel Good Inc. has an array of sun safe products to choose from. The one I am most excited about is brand new, and not even here yet, but should be by the time of this publishing. It is the We Are Feel Good Inc. Kakadu Plum Sunscreen. I’m loving the body milk in the Kakadu Plum, so I know I am going to love the sunscreen.
Don’t be a witchy woman (or man), slap on the sunscreen!!”

Phillipa’s Sun Protection Review
“Okay, I’ve brought a few goodies this month I really didn’t need to, but hey, they’re new so I really should test them out!!! Well, that’s what I tell myself anyway. I’ve chosen to give the We Are Feel Good Inc a go, after hearing my boss and co-workers excitement when we managed to get them in.
I’ve justified it by buying one for my kids first… it totally wasn’t for me at all LOL. We are now proud owners of a Baby Mineral Sunscreen SPF50+ and I couldn’t be happier!
So, what is like though?
It’s a thick white cream that absorbs quickly into a dry to touch feel. It takes a bit to rub on, but for a baby or young child this is great as it doesn’t go in their eyes etc. I’ve found it perfect for the girls faces at the playground, as I’m not covering their whole body (they have sensible clothes on right now and would likely use the whole tube if I let them). It doesn’t rub into their eyes, and doesn’t have a smell to it. I give it two thumbs up!!! As a 75g wouldn’t last long if I covered their whole bodies, I’d say this is perfect as a whole baby or kids faces sunscreen.
Of course I couldn’t leave it there. I also HAD to try the Sticky Zinc Light, and I’m not disappointed. This is a thick cream that rubs in well and has a dry to touch feel. I have pale but pink skin and it looks A-OK for colour, no orange looking tint etc. I pop on under my foundation, much as I do Societe Prime and Defend. I’m totally happy with this and will be purchasing again!”

Meagan’s Sun Protection Review
“I have a new favourite sunscreen! In the past I’ve found that most moisturisers containing SPF weren’t really hydrating enough for me. I’d always add moisture on top. Finally!! A product that hydrates WHILE it protects my Skin, SkinCeuticals Ultra Facial Defense. This one contains SPF 50 with UVA and UVB protection. It’s designed with mature skin in mind, as it prevents the breakdown of collagen. A product that looks after my dehydration and dryness, whilst protecting my skin is a win for me! It also feels beautiful! It glides on really nicely and my makeup sits well over it too ”

Rosie’s Sun Protection Review
“Moisturising and protecting, Aspect Dr Hydrating Face SPF 50+ is such a great product for daily sun protection with the added benefit of being a primer. Smoothing imperfections, makeup goes on perfectly and skin stays hydrated. Broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection plus antioxidants means defense from sun damage and premature ageing. I love this product, especially during the summer months when I’m outdoors a lot more.”
