We have a very well stocked range of skin care, but how much do you know about our makeup ranges? We’ve been really picky about what we have on our website. We don’t want you to go to the trouble of achieving healthy glowing skin, only to undo all your hard work with nasty ingredients. We’ve narrowed our range to three main brands, and hopefully this will give you a better idea of why we stock them for you. We hope you enjoy our Makeup Product Review, and better yet, we hope we inspire you to expect more from your makeup than simply looking beautiful… but to feel confident you’ll be healthy too.
Jane Iredale – for the makeup lovers!
Jane Iredale is our latest brand and it’s packed full of well considered options to provide your complete makeup needs. If you’re a makeup buff, you don’t need my description, you know it’s great. We’re talking high quality minerals, and organic ingredients where possible. It’s cruelty free and contains no parabens, talc, phthalates, synthetic fragrance and GMO ingredients.
Not only that, it’s goal is to make products that look good, feel good and are good for the skin. Products must be easy to apply, as well, so that you can be your best in the shortest amount of time. The Jane Iredale brand is carried throughout Australia and world-wide in more than fifty countries. Better yet, rather than being led by the latest fashion, it’s about enhancing natural beauty instead.
Colorescience – natural, everyday protection made easy…
If you haven’t noticed, Colorescience is packed full of sun protection options. Considering the harsh Australian sun we consider this to be essential. It’s more than that though, from sunlight, to pollution, to free radicals, they believe in going way beyond UV. In fact, they’re almost obsessive about preventing skin damage. And that’s exactly why we love them.
The leading cause of ageing skin is sun damage, and if you’re really serious about having healthy skin, then you should have Colorescience in your purse, bathroom and bag. They’ve made a range that is easy to use on-the-go and proven to increase the health of your skin.
Osmosis Colour – when healing needs to come first.
Our Osmosis Colour range is really about making sure you continue your healing journey with options suitable for sensitive skin. Don’t forget that Osmosis MD contains really powerful skin care when fighting difficult skin conditions. So, they’ve made sure there are options to then conceal, enhance and illuminate without undoing their powerful work.
You will notice their range is packed with natural mineral-based options, zinc and antioxidants. They also offer Oncology-Friendly skin care and beauty options designed to be gentle, reinforce the skins barrier and promote repair without causing harm or irritation.
So what do you look for in your makeup? For some of you it’s enhancing features or brightening your day. For others its concealing skin issues, making you feel more confident. We’ve decided to go through our well used favourites. Giving you a sneak peak into the extra ‘glam’ that we can’t do without, and why.
Meg’s Makeup Product Review
“Today I am going to review two products that I absolutely love. Both are in the Jane Iredale range, which is no surprise, because its my favourite makeup brand in the whole world.
The first product is Zap and Hide. It’s a concealer that comes in a little tube in a few different colours. This is the best concealer I have ever used!! It is so good for pimples because it contains botanical ingredients that help clear the pimples up – like Tea Tree. Actually, you can really smell the Tea Tree in it. I don’t often get pimples, but I still use it to even out my skin tone, especially on the sides of my chin over my (nearly gone) melasma. (If you’re wondering, it is nearly gone from using Aspect Dr Complete Pigment Plus and from having 2 SkinPen treatments!!) Back to the Zap and Hide – it stays put, you can layer it for more coverage and best of all, it is good for your skin! I know that you are supposed to put concealer on top of your foundation, but I have always applied it first, and then my pressed powder, and the good thing is that it doesn’t come off during the pressed powder application process! Sometimes, I use Zap and Hide under my eyes too.
It is super creamy and gentle on the skin, so it works well for dark circles also.
My second review is a blush, and this is odd to me because I have, at 42 years of age, just started using a blush, and let me tell you, it has changed my life!! I have no idea why I never used one before!?!? Perhaps because I was afraid of looking ‘overdone’, but little did I know that it brings me to life and adds a youthful glow that I’ve been missing out on!
I am using the Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Blush in Whisper. It is a shimmering peachy pink which adds just the right amount of colour and shimmer and adds a nice highlight to my cheeks. If you are like me and haven’t used a blush before, give it a go!! You will be surprised at how much ‘healthier’ and ‘alive’ you look!
Something more to love about these products is that they are cruelty free, vegan and use the highest quality minerals. All products are non-comedogenic, meaning that they won’t clog your skin (something that those prone to acne will benefit from) and there are no toxic chemicals. So if you are already investing in good quality skin care, then go the next step to a cosmeceutical makeup that is not undoing the hard work you have put in on your skin!”

Julie’s Makeup Product Review
“Concealment is the name of the game for me when it comes to makeup. I’m always trying different concealers for my lovely dark rings that I have often spoken about in the past, I’m obsessed with how majestic they are. My
favourite at the moment is Jane Iredale Circle Delete. One of our gorgeous clients actually put me on to this one while visiting the clinic one day. Seeing her results after trying out our tester prompted me to try for myself, and It works really well. There are two shades in a cute little compact and it comes with its own application brush.
You can blend the two together, or use one for colour correcting and the other to highlight, the latter is what I do.
I have always struggled to find a concealer that doesn’t gather in those fine lines like fat in a trap. This is where my other favourite concealer Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer comes in to play. It has a unique moisture stick contained in the lid and once applied, any concealer seems to glide on beautifully. I always gently rub the stick on the back of my hand to heat it slightly before applying so it doesn’t drag on the skin… hah! I have a makeup tip! Who would have thought! The shade I chose is just a little too dark, unfortunately, so for now I will just use the moisture stick with the Circle Delete and lighten up next time with the Osmosis Colour Concealer. Mixing it up is fun.
Another fave of mine in our makeup collection is the Jane Iredale Eye Pencil. I have to say this pencil is by far the easiest to apply that I have ever used. It contains conditioning oils and waxes, so glides on perfectly.
And I wouldn’t be without my Osmosis Colour CC Cream, a touch of colour, a touch of extra sun protection and a touch of moisture.
It’s quite disillusioning as you age, you see yourself fading into oblivion in photographs. It’s like everyone else in the photo seem clear and precise and you look like that doll with no face that used to be on television in the 90’s, hang on, have to google it… EC!! I know you young beauties won’t understand, but I’m sensing a lot of head nodding from our older audience. Don’t despair however, with the magic of a little makeup, you can highlight those features. Becoming less like EC and more like Miss Piggy, and who doesn’t adore Miss Piggy!“”

Phillipa’s Makeup Product Review
“I love things to be simple. If there are too many steps I get lazy and skip them. I always try to combine sun protection wherever possible into my skin care, and my makeup is no different. I have a few ‘loves’ so please excuse me if I can’t choose only one option for you. If you’ve read a few of these you’ll realise I have pigmentation issues. I’m typically trying to calm my red cheeks, without over-concealing. Otherwise I feel the need to go over-the-top.
I really do prefer the ‘natural barely-there’ look.
I love the Colorescience Total Eye and All Calm concealer and primer. If I’m relaxed, this is all I’ll wear with a quick swipe of Jane Iredales Lip Balm (Flirt) with SPF. I’m always concerned my makeup will feel heavy, but these end up feeling light and yet soooo effective with great SPF protection. The only thing is that All Calm takes a short while to properly “blend” into the skin. I find when I first apply it, I have a solid “layer” on my skin. After about 10 minutes I’ll check myself in the mirror and it’s “softened” and looks natural. My pigmentation disappears but it doesn’t look like I’m wearing anything at all. How do they manage that?! Other days I’m in a rush to get out the door and
simply use the Osmosis Colour CC Cream. It’s great at providing a sheer enhancement to my skin tone and it feels wonderful on my skin. It doesn’t provide as full a coverage or
sun protection as All Calm but is very quick to apply with a light coverage.
I always carry a Colorescience Brush SPF (Medium) so I can touch up the SPF on my face and shoulders without looking in a mirror.
When it comes to my lips, I love Jane Iredale’s Lipstick (Gabby) as it’s creamy without being sticky and the colour options are really natural. If I’m going to be eating at an event (party/dinner etc) I’ll use their Lip Fixation Stain (Fascination) with the Lip Pencil
(Rose). That way I don’t have to touch-up all the time. My eyes tend to get irritated easily and I’m left with bloodshot eyes, so I opt for the PureLash Lengthening Mascara as it’s free of the nasties, and I use the
Eye Shere liquid eyeshadow (champagne silk) so it doesn’t ‘dust’ into my eyes too much. I don’t add blush because, lets face it, I already have enough pigmentation in my cheeks for all of us combined. If I’m going all out I add the Jane Iredale Brow Pencil (Brunette) to even my brows.
I do have quite a range of makeup in my stash, and I do love to play with it now and then, but what I’ve mentioned above are my go-to favourites that I wouldn’t want to be without!”
