Although relatively new to our range, Dermalist have been creating and perfecting their formulations since 2011 and launched their range for sale in Australia in 2019. Having moved overseas, I’m no longer surrounded by products to try, and have found after using Dermalist I really don’t have the urge to! Check out my honest Dermalist review below…
Dermalist is completely Australian owned.
The idea behind the Dermalist range is that you only require a few products. Dermalists products are multi-functional cosmeceuticals that have been designed to address several skin needs and concerns at once. This significantly reduces the complexity and number of products required to achieve and maintain clinically beautiful skin.
All their products contain only the highest quality, most non-irritating clinical actives, natural extracts and natural preservatives to restore your radiance while respecting the skin’s integrity.
Each of the Dermalist products contain several powerful active ingredients at therapeutic levels to deliver real results, in a short amount of time. While highly concentrated, each product has been expertly balanced to eliminate downtime and likelihood of an initial breakout or inflammation. This is really beneficial for those who suffer acne, or those of you new to skin care who are worried about the ‘gets worse before it gets better’ situation.
100% vegan, cruelty free and made from 90% recyclable materials.
Meg’s Dermalist Review – What I use everyday!
Cleanse
- Ultra Hydrating Lactic Cleanser. My completely honest opinion of this cleanser is that I don’t love it as much as my CosMedix Purity Clean, and that’s because it’s milky and I prefer a gel-like cleanser. It does leave my skin feeling clean though, but I would recommend this for you if you have drier skin. Mine is oily, which is why I prefer a gel.
- Ultra Smoothing Facial Exfoliant. I LOVE this!!! If you have read my other reviews, you’d know that I love granular exfoliants. This one is super fine, contains AHA’s and enzymes. This one is not to be rubbed harshly into the skin though – roll it gently across your face, or just leave it on and let the AHA’s and enzymes work their magic. I use this about 2-3 times a week.
Treat
- AllSerum Skin Perfector. This is all my previous serums rolled into one. It’s got your vitamins C and B5’s, niacinamide, peptides, hyaluronic acid, squalane and lactic acid, all combined into one serum, and all in a high percentage dosage. It feels soft and absorbs easily into your skin. It’s not at all sticky, and has a fresh, natural fragrance. I absolutely love this serum and have noticed a significant reduction in the inflammation around my nose and chin to the point where I no longer wear concealer. I use this serum every single morning without fail.
- Defy. This is brand new! I am so glad that Dermalist brought this night serum out. Previous to this, I was using the AllSerum morning and night, but Defy has the added Retinol along with all the other ingredients found in the AllSerum. Vitamin A is a super powerful antioxidant. It will tighten your skin and make you look brighter and more even toned.
Nourish & Protect
Dermalist does not make a moisturiser currently. To be honest, after using their serums, I don’t ever feel like I need one over the top, but I do apply an SPF in the morning and a moisturiser in the evening, or a moisturising mask. I don’t use the facial cleansing wand that they make, but I have heard good things about it. I just prefer to use my hands or a face washer.
What I love about this range is the simplicity, the cost effectiveness and the suitability across all skin types. I have also appreciated not having to layer on so many serums. I feel as though my pores are less congested and my inflammation has pretty much gone. I’m really enjoying using this range, and I also love that you can purchase refillable cartridges for the serums, saving on packaging. This shows a great commitment to their environmental ethos. A 10/10 from me!
