Sunscreen is not just a summertime essential; it’s a year-round necessity for maintaining healthy skin. SPF, or Sun Protection Factor, plays a pivotal role in shielding our skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Whether it’s sunny or overcast, UV rays can penetrate the atmosphere and cause damage that accumulates over time, leading to premature aging, dark spots, and even skin cancer. By applying SPF, we create a protective barrier that blocks these harmful rays, preserving our skin’s youthful appearance and reducing the risk of skin diseases. So, whether you’re hitting the beach or simply stepping out for groceries, don’t forget to slather on the SPF!
Choosing an SPF can be challenging though – so read on to see which ones we all love…

“The Airy Day Golden Glow SPF is a fantastic addition to my skincare routine. Not only does it offer reliable sun protection with its SPF factor, but it also provides a lovely golden glow that enhances my complexion. It’s lightweight and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, making it perfect for daily wear. Plus, the added shimmer gives a subtle, natural-looking luminosity to my skin.
I love that it doesn’t leave a greasy residue and sits well under makeup. Overall, the Airy Day Golden Glow SPF is a must-have for those looking for sun protection and a radiant finish in one product.
Please note that Airy Day will be available on our website in the next week.”

“As a teenager of the 70’s it was slather that oil and fry till you resembled something like a saveloy, but maybe just put a stripe of zinc on the nose, just straight across the middle and out over the cheek a little, cause that’s the only place the sun would hit… yeah. Then in the 80’s came the slip, slop, slap campaign which eventually everyone started to take notice of, (but not I), I wasn’t keen on the Geisha look. The 90’s, well I became more aware of skin health, probably because I started seeing signs of that misspent saveloy era! I began using an SPF everyday on my face, but wow, they have come a long way since then. Today the choice is overwhelming and so much more sophisticated.
The absolute favourite for my face at the moment is the SkinCeuticals Ultra Facial Defense, it’s so good. It includes both chemical and mineral filters, it’s light but very moisturising, and I don’t need to apply a ‘moisturiser’ as well. Although the tube is tiny, only 30ml, I use it every day, but it seems to last forever!
For the body, it has to be a reminder of my saveloy days, the WAFG Coconut Sunscreen, ah yes, that waft of coconut oil immediately transports me back… but safe to say after a day in the sun, I now look more like a sausage than a saveloy.”

“Okay, I have a love/hate relationship with SPF. I’m sure most of you will agree… unfortunately when we get asked ‘what’s the one thing I should be doing’ it’s protecting your skin. I’ve tried so many sunscreens and now I’ve researched further and realised I’m better off using a zinc based sunblock. What’s the reason? I’m lazy. It’s really that simple.
I’m happy to spend time on my skin in the morning, but unless I’m at the beach, I’m not reapplying skincare during the day reliably. With this in mind I’m better off adding a zinc block in the morning and knowing there’s a slim chance (better than none) that I still have some protection during the day. While chemical sunscreens are great protection, they have a time limit. The chemical reaction only lasts about 2 hour before it starts wearing off… if I’m only applying in the morning there’s Buckley’s chance of still having any during the day. So, back on track… which sunblock’s do I recommend? Aspect Dr Hydra Shield, Medik8 Physical Sunscreen and CosMedix Hydrate +.
Now, backing this up, I make sure the foundation I’m using also includes a physical blocker. I’ve been travelling around Australia this year. Having started in Tassie, I started out pale with freckles… the more we travelled I’ve slowly changed to a light summer glow. I’ve used SkinBetter Science Tone Smart, and it’s gone from blending with my pale freckly skin into light tan without having to change my product. It’s actually an SPF primer, but it’s a tone adapting buildable base and as I don’t like a thick coverage, it evens my imperfections leaving a natural yet nicer skin tone.”

“This year I have added a new product to my SPF line up. Skinbetter Tone Smart has become my go-to for quick, effective sun protection and lightweight coverage. It comes in a compact and is so easy to apply (and also reapply when you’re out and about), blending in seamlessly. It can also work as a primer, blurring imperfections and smoothing out the surface of the skin, ready for your fave foundation.
Now for the science. Tone Smart offers 100% mineral protection against UVA and UVB damage, it is water-resistant up to 80 minutes and it has iron oxides that provide a sheer tint across all skin colours and types. Some stand-out ingredients include: Plankton Crystals that protect against environmental stressors, Silica which scatters light and creates the blurring effect and Ginger Root Extract which helps to soothe skin and reduce redness, making it a great choice for sensitive skin. I have been loving this product and wouldn’t be without it!”

“As a 22-year-old who spends a lot of time under the sun, I’ve finally found a sunscreen that I can actually enjoy wearing… The We Are Feel Good Inc. Wild Rosella Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+!
First of all, can we talk about how amazing it is to have a sunscreen that’s enriched with Australia’s own hibiscus? It’s like a little treat for my skin while I’m protecting it from the sun. And the scent? Oh, it’s a delightful blend of sweet and tart, with hints of spiced honey and berries. It’s like a tropical getaway in a bottle.
But let’s not forget the most important part – the broad-spectrum protection. With SPF 50+, I feel confident knowing that my skin is shielded from those harmful rays. And the best part? It’s not greasy at all! No more feeling like a shiny disco ball under the sun – this sunscreen absorbs beautifully into my skin.
Founded right here in Australia, We Are Feel Good Inc. knows our Aussie summers like no other. They’ve created a range of sunscreens tailored for sun, surf, and adventure, and boy, they’ve nailed it!
This sunscreen is the perfect sunscreen for your body, the creamy formulation feels luxurious and nourishing. Oh, and did I mention it’s water-resistant for up to 4 hours? So whether I’m swimming or just sweating it out, I know my skin is protected. Plus, it’s reef-safe and free from parabens, oxybenzone, and octinoxate, which is fantastic for both my skin and the environment.
In conclusion, Wild Rosella Sunscreen Lotion SPF50+ has won my heart. It’s not just a sunscreen – it’s a pampering experience with its hibiscus infusion and delightful scent. With top-notch sun protection and skin-nourishing ingredients like aloe vera and vitamin E, it’s become a staple in my summer essentials. So, if you want to enjoy wearing sunscreen as much as I do (which you should), give this one a try!”

“I have finally found my go-to sunscreen/morning cream all in one with We Are Feel Good Inc’s Good Morning Cream SPF 50. This gem combines effective sun protection with a lightweight, non-greasy formula. It glides on smoothly, absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave an annoying white residue.
I use this cream under makeup, it works perfectly as a primer and really prolongs my foundation staying on too! Even better, it has no stinging around sensitive areas. Hydrates the skin beautifully and doesn’t leave an overly glossy shimmer afterwards. It is very light, slightly more runny than other SPF’S I have used, so if you are someone who loves a thick SPF, this one may not be for you.
However, if you are like me and you are after something that is easy to use, (especially with makeup) and doesn’t feel thick or greasy, this product is definitely for you!! Another added bonus with this Morning SPF is the price! The whole We Are Feel Good range is very cost friendly! This particular morning cream is only $34.95!! Bargain if you ask me!”
