Discovering the best eye cream is a quest many skincare enthusiasts embark on, and the key to unlocking its magic often lies in the wisdom shared through reviews. Eye creams or eye serums are specifically formulated to address the delicate skin around the eyes, which is thinner and more prone to dryness and fine lines than the rest of the face. They are designed to be lighter in texture than regular moisturisers, ensuring they are gentle on this sensitive area.
Eye creams often contain ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides, and vitamins C and E and sometimes vitamin A or retinol, which help to hydrate, firm, and brighten the skin, reducing the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, and wrinkles. Their targeted formulation and gentle nature make them more effective and safer for the delicate eye area than regular moisturisers, making them an essential part of a skincare routine for maintaining youthful and healthy-looking eyes.
If you’re not using an eye cream, it is the one thing that can really make a difference in upping your skin care game. Read on to find out our best sellers, and the ones we love.
Meg’s best eye cream review
“I dabble in a few eye creams and eye serums, and I particularly love Cosmedix Elite Eye Doctor for really working on my crows feet and discoloration. This eye cream is one of the best available – anywhere! It contains vitamin A for collagen production and oils and fatty acids for hydrating and plumping. There is nothing that you won’t love about this product (other than the price) but it does last a very long time.
I also can’t go past my all time favourite day time eye serum, Medik8 C Tetra Eye. This is so unbelievably good for brightening and plumping the under eye area, not to mention it’s only $44!! I also love SkinBetter Science Eye Max. It is so luxurious and delivers amazing results. Aspect Dr Eyelift continues to be one of our best sellers, and for good reason!
And one of my most favourite products, which is not a serum or cream, is the Osmosis Flawless Concealer. I don’t wear makeup often, but I always apply this concealer under my eyes. It’s amazing! It blends so well, doesn’t cake and looks super natural. This is my absolute must have beauty product. And for my under eye concealer tip: match it to the colour of your skin – not lighter!! This gives a much more natural look.”

Julie’s best eye cream review
“If you are an avid reader of our team reviews you may recall me writing about my unfortunate lineage back to the raccoon. This is something I just have to deal with, so please don’t feel sorry for me, there is a huge community of us out there, and we all support each other in our quest for rescue from the abyss of looking tired.
I have tired… um, tried many, many eye creams/serums, and while they will help with fine lines and wrinkles, puffiness and lax skin around the eye, dark circles are something else, and very hard to budge, as more often than not it’s coming from either plain old genes (aka raccoon) or what’s happening inside your body, rather than what’s happening within your skin.
So for now it is soldiering on using great eye products and conceal, conceal, conceal. Although this can be difficult too when you are also developing those fine lines around your eyes, and trying to stop concealer building up in those said lines, ah the joys of aging. If only I had begun using medical grade eye products in my 20’s instead of my 50’s!! There would certainly be less grooving goin’ on… around the eye I mean.
So let me offer up what I believe to be the best of the best in eye products, well, what works best for me anyway.
I have used for a very long time the Medik8 Illuminating Eye Balm which not only works to nourish and protect the skin around the eye, but offers a mineral pigment to brighten and conceal as well. I will use this every morning without fail and if I’m going out somewhere special, I will put it on before any targeted concealer. This beauty at least makes me look like I had a bit of sleep the night before. It’s one that I will probably keep using until they don’t make it anymore!!
Ooh that rhymed, ha!
For my evening routine I have really liked using the SkinBetter Science Interfuse Treatment Eye I am nearly to the bottom of my container, so I really think for next time I want to up my game even more at night, though, let’s be honest, it’s pretty hard to better SkinBetter Science products. BUT I’m going to spend the big bucks and buy our Rolls Royce of eye serums in the Cosmedix Elite Eye Doctor I can’t believe it, I have been here at The Skin Care Clinic for quite a few years now and have never used this serum!! It’s almost sacrilege.
But let’s not forget my real hero here, the Medik8 Illuminating Eye Balm.  It doesn’t just illuminate your eyes, it illuminates your soul, reminding you that even in the darkest of times (or circles), there’s always a glimmer of hope.”

“The best starting place when choosing an eye product is deciding what you’re really worried about, and where your skin’s at. It sounds simple, but with so many options on the market and everyone saying ‘theirs is the best’ it’s really not simple at all. I’m going to take you through both my favourites for me (now and in the past), as well as our best sellers and must-have’s that are on my ‘wish list’ for post menopause.
20’s+
While you’re young, your skin’s still hydrated and smooth, and you’re most likely after something to protect your skin from the sun – that’s if you’re a forward thinker. In all likelihood you’re really looking for something to fix the dark circles and puffiness under your eyes from staying up to late or feeling unwell. You really can’t go past a vitamin C serum for your eye area or a cream for under-eye care.
I loved Medik8 C Tetra Eye and it’s counterpart Advanced Day Eye Protect, as well as Medik8 Illuminating Eye. Medik8 is passionately environmentally friendly throughout it’s formulation and production as well as producing amazing products. It’s the perfect balance between quality, price and its environment impact. Making it ideal for the younger generations (and mature ones also who consider their environmental impact!).
30’s+
As you mature (a fun decade+ of adulthood and sun behind you) you start to see puffiness and fine lines. You might still feel nicely hydrated, but you’re wondering ‘what should I be doing’ to avoid anything more. If you want the best-of-the-best then check out CosMedix Opi Crystals. It’s a sticky opalescent serum that is packed with smoothing, firming and glowing goodness. It’s perfect for night-time but not great if you’re feeling super-dry and really want that cream feeling. Then you’ll want to check out Aspect Dr Eyelift. It’s not too pricey and will give you both hydration and peptides. You could also consider adding Medik8 Crystal Retinal Eye in the evening as a way to start your vitamin A journey in this delicate area. You’ll likely start wanting to add this around 40+… just warning you!
50’s+
Once you’ve been through menopause you’re likely wondering ‘when did it happen, I just blinked and I’m seeing deep lines?’ No, you’re not crazy or alone, the process of hormone changes really does play havoc with your skin also. You’re likely feeling more dry and seeing deeper lines that you’d like to. Now you really do want to up your game to CosMedix Eye Doctor and get that wonderful vitamin A going. You might also love Osmosis Refresh to start with or Osmosis Illuminate if you’re feeling particularly dry, these are amazing eye creams! Note that I’d also suggest using Aspect Dr Eyelift in the morning to get morning hydration in this area… feeling dry really is a signal to ADD moisture!
70’s+
I really hope by now you’ve embraced your skin. Ageing is natural and you might even be like my mum and say ‘you have wrinkles and that’s that.’ The key with elderly skin is reducing that tight feeling of dry and flaky skin. You’ll want something more luxe and I’d say SkinBetter Science EyeMax is perfect, containing both vitamin A and hydration into a wonderful night cream. If you hate having too many steps/creams to use though, you might even consider Aspect Phytostat 9, simply because it can be both an eye, neck and face cream in one. If you’re after simple then this will cover all your bases in one. It won’t be a miracle cure for your wrinkles, but if you’re after feeling more comfortable in your skin with low cost and multiple purposes then it’s ideal.
Have I overwhelmed you yet? I really do feel with this eye cream review it’s important to realise that it’s not a one-size fits all. Your skin WILL change and your eye area will also. Hopefully you work towards eye wrinkles that show just how much you’ve laughed and loved in your life! Surely these are the best kind!”

Sophie’s best eye cream review
“Earlier in the year I started to use the Skinbetter Science Alpharet Eye Cream of a night and it worked wonders in decreasing the fine lines that had started to form around my eyes. This kick started my love for eye creams and showed me the importance of them. Therefore, I wanted to find an eye cream to use in the morning. I decided to test out the Skinbetter Science Interfuse Eye cream. The formula of Interfuse ensures optimal nourishment. It has further diminished the appearance of my fine lines. As well as this, the formula offers protective and illuminating effects, it has reduced my under-eye puffiness while sealing in moisture for optimal hydration. I am beyond happy with Skinbetter Science’s Interfuse Eye treatment. I highly recommend everyone to invest in a good eye cream routine, it really does make a difference. The Skinbetter Science Interfuse Eye Treatment would be a wonderful addition to anyone’s morning skincare routine. ”

Zoe’s best eye cream review
“I’ve always been a skeptic when it comes to skincare products promising miracles, especially around the delicate area of the eyes. However, after trying Toskani Myotec Eye Lift Contour, I’m happy to admit that it’s exceeded my expectations.
The application process is smooth and gentle, and I appreciate that a little goes a long way, making it cost-effective in the long run.
But what truly impressed me is the noticeable difference it made in reducing puffiness and dark circles/eye bags. I had a wake up call recently when receiving my passport photo in the mail, my eyes were so puffy I had the worst bags, I couldn’t believe it was me at first!! But in the short time that I have been using Toskani’s Eye cream, I have seen a huge difference in the appearance around my eyes. I don’t look as tired, nor do my eyes feel as tired as they did beforehand, and the dark circles have almost completely gone!
What sets Toskani Myotec Eye Lift Contour apart is its long-lasting effects. I’ve tried countless eye creams that provide temporary results, but this one seems to be addressing the root causes, resulting in a more sustained improvement over time.
Overall, I highly recommend giving this product a try if you’re in search of a reliable solution for tired-looking eyes. It’s become a staple in my skincare routine, and I can confidently say it’s worth the investment for the noticeable difference it makes.”
