Meg’s Aspect Minerals Makeup Review
“Well if you didn’t know, I have moved to the tropics. I’m living in Phuket, and let me tell you this – I have a new appreciation for those of you dealing with humidity! All of you ladies living in the North, I feel you! Hair, skin, clothes, makeup – everything has changed, especially coming from Tassie where the air is so thin and dry.
Makeup is now pretty much non-existent for me because it feels suffocating to wear and just melts off anyway. But if I do have to wear makeup, a mineral based powder is the best option as it mattifies my skin, has the most staying power and the new Aspect Minerals range has the added benefit of some extra SPF protection!
Aspect Minerals Powder Foundation
I am, like most women I think, always a little apprehensive to try new makeup, because once you have one you love, you generally stick with it. Mine was Osmosis CC Cream and the Jane Iredale pressed base. I have to admit, when our rep from Aspect gave me one of the Aspect Loose Powders to try, I wasn’t in a hurry. I always thought loose powders were messy, looked cakey on the skin and you always ended up with too much on your brush. But it is always nice to be proven wrong, and I was with the Aspect Loose Powder.
The packaging ensures that it’s not messy and you can’t get too much out all at once. It is milled into a super fine powder so it doesn’t look cakey, the colour is perfect, it stays on, and it contains a clever ingredient that diffuses light so redness and imperfections are covered, making you look super natural. You can layer it too, for more coverage. It’s also cheaper than other ranges we stock, which is another bonus.
I really love a natural ‘sunkissed’ look, and this is perfect. It matches my skin perfectly, feels like I’m not wearing makeup and doesn’t come off on my clothes. I also got another one in a darker shade to use as a bronzer as I don’t like how a lot of regular bronzers have shimmer in them. Aspect just keeps delivering the goods!
If you want my hot tip on how to get the most natural look using a powder foundation, it is to remove the vellus hair first. This is the super fine ‘peach fuzz’ that everyone has on their face. This will give you a smooth base, preventing the powder from clinging to the hair. In the clinic we call this procedure ‘epidermal blading’. You can have it done in a clinic, or you can do it yourself. Check out our Instagram page to see me showing you how to do it with a super cheap tool.”

Julie’s Aspect Minerals Makeup Review
“I don’t usually wear a ‘foundation’ per se, I love my CC Creams or tinted moisturisers, I have never found a foundation that felt or looked right. So when the new Aspect Minerals range came in, I didn’t even sample for a few weeks. Then while at work one afternoon, I thought I’d have a play around with the Liquid Foundation before leaving, and wow! It is totally lovely, and such a natural finish. I instantly purchased my own.
I’m not sure if I was super hydrated that day, or it was because I already had a tinted moisturiser on, but when I applied the next day, it didn’t seem to go on as effortlessly. Really?!! Is this going to be another foundation to roll around at the bottom of my makeup bag before sending to makeup heaven in a year’s time? (yes, a bit of a hoarder) Did I get the right shade? I know I got a little confused with the shade numbers when I was getting it off the shelf. And it was the end of a busy day, when old brains are tired and mushy. No! I will make this work, if it looked good yesterday, it can look good again, even if it’s the wrong shade!
I’m always mixing tinted moisturisers, CC Creams, sunscreens and moisturisers anyway, so why not this foundation too?
I used the Aspect Sun CC Cream, so extra, extra sun protection, in equal parts with the foundation, and voila! Worked really well. If you like a matte finish though, this wouldn’t be for you, as the Aspect Sun CC Cream has quite a glossy finish. I did try it with the Aspect Dr Hydra Shield recently too, but that didn’t seem to work as well. I’m thinking it works better with a chemical sunscreen rather than a physical one. Oh my… am I a closet scientist?
From a lot of reviews, you really should use the Aspect Minerals Primer to get the very best of coverage. I am pretty certain if I try it with that, I wouldn’t have to mix with anything else.
But for now I am really satisfied how it covers, adding the extra moisture to the Aspect Minerals Liquid Foundation.
So if you have never used a foundation, or like me, can never find one that suits, this could work for you too. Give it a go!”

Phillipa’s Aspect Minerals Makeup Review
“I’m typically a sheer liquid coverage kinda gal’. I have a bright rosy nose and cheeks, and when they disappear I just don’t feel like me. I took a plunge with this new Aspect Minerals range and have tried wearing both their liquid and powder foundations, together and separately. I’ll start from the beginning…
The Aspect Minerals Liquid foundation is in a thin black tube, that seems quite small, until you use it. It’s definitely a medium to full coverage (buildable) – no wonder it has such a good photo finish! Not only that, but it’s thick and a small amount goes a long way – and I mean small… Initially I was in a rush, and completely forgot to moisturise my face first. Doh! Skin care 101 went straight out the window. No surprise, it was hard to get an even finish. The next day I completed my typical morning skin care routine then tried again, and voila, success! A small amount gave me a great coverage and it lasted all day. I took a snap of the colours on my arm before I started, so all you fair skinned lasses can see how it looks on el-natural skin.
My next experiment was to add the powder foundation over the top of the liquid. This gave me a better coverage and it looked great all day. I did need to wear a brighter lippy (Jane Iredale Lip Plumper in Paris) for this experiment (not in the pics sorry) as I looked a bit dull without the red cheeks… probably just me, but hey – I’m used to being red.
The powder on it’s own worked really well, and I particularly liked this over the Aspect Minerals Primer.
It gives a great coverage, with my red nose and cheeks happily disappearing. My in-clinic “play” sessions with the Aspect Minerals Primer have shown a big improvement when wearing the foundation.
Lastly, I’ve been trying the Aspect Minerals Liquid mixed with my sunscreen, to see if I can combine a few steps and achieve the sheer coverage I’m used to. I’ve tried a few, and really like Aspect Dr Hydra Shield with a touch of Liquid foundation. This has given me the sheer coverage I love, but taken a lot of the redness out of my nose and cheeks, without obviously wearing makeup… easy! Oh, and excuse the bags under my eyes, I have a cold in the last photo, but you can’t even see my raw red nose!!! Excellent work!!! Best yet, this makeup feels feather light, so I really don’t feel like I’m wearing any.
My only note of caution is if you have dry skin. Definitely make sure you get the primer and also moisturise your skin, as it gives a much better coverage. This is definitely a foundation designed to cover your pigmentation and blemishes, giving a photo finish, rather than simply to nourish and protect. ”

Meagan’s Aspect Minerals Makeup Review
“We put in all this effort to maintain, treat and protect our skin with wonderful cosmeceutical products, so my advice to clients is to think of their makeup as the last step in their skin care regime. Some foundations contain nasty ingredients, and these will penetrate the skin, undoing all that hard work you’ve been putting in.
Aspect Dr skin care range is of the highest quality and the foundation is no exception. It contains amazing hydrating ingredients, so it keeps your skin looking and feeling plump. It’s a medium, buildable finish and bonus, it’s jam packed with antioxidants to look after your skin all day. I haven’t seen a foundation work so well on redness! It has an amazing ability to even the skin tone. In pink and gold based colours, there’s a product for everyone. Do your skin a favour, and look it after it from start to finish, you will most definitely see the change!”

Rosie’s Aspect Minerals Makeup Review
“Why use a primer? Using a primer will help to increase the longevity of your makeup, it smooths the skin for even application and evens the skin tone, diffusing imperfections.
Right now we are loving the new Aspect Minerals Primer. This cosmeceutical primer is packed full of Australian botanicals and antioxidants and will leave your skin feeling nourished and ready for your Aspect Mineral Powder or Liquid foundation. Suitable for all skin types, Aspect Mineral Primer locks in hydration and moisture whilst giving you a satin smooth finish. It’s Australian made and contains no nasties! We think you will love it!”
