Red, inflamed, dry, irritated, flakey, itchy, blotchy or just super sensitive. If any of these words describe your skin, then there are some specially designed products that can help, with great results. Read this week’s Anti-Red product review to find out some of wonderful products that we use to combat some of these issues:
Meg’s Anti-Red Product Review
“I don’t really suffer from red skin or inflammation often, but what can happen to my skin from time to time is that it gets a little ‘stressed out’ and can feel dry, weak and in need of some loving. If I neglect my skin at these times, I can get a little redness and flakiness. Especially around the edges of my nose and either side of my chin. When this happens, my go to is the Societe Calming Relief Balm. Here’s what it does and why I love it:
- Societe Calming Relief Balm is a thick moisturising balm. It feels beautiful on, non-greasy but does have that ‘balmy’ feel
- Aloe leaf juice, soybean oil, bran oil, and shea butter are some of the key ingredients that aid in the soothing of dry, irritated and inflamed skin
- Ideal for those who suffer from dry, flakey skin and those with rosacea. Also great for people whos skin flares up in extreme weather conditions, like dry air or extreme cold
- Quickly reduces redness after application
- Soothes tenderness, sensitivities and itching
- Powerful moisturising ingredients to deeply hydrate
- A great balm to use after a treatment, such as laser or peels“

Julie’s Anti-Red Product Review
“I wasn’t sure what to do with this review as I don’t generally suffer from redness, unless self inflicted by one senior brain forgetting to reapply sunscreen. So I’ll revisit the quandary with my daughter’s skin, and what the magical stuff was I told her to use, and how it worked, and how she was amazed her mother knew what would help, and how she should have listened to said mother twelve months beforehand, when she told her what she should be using to fix it.
If you suffer from acne rosacea, or any redness for that matter, Osmosis MD Rescue will definitely minimise that redness exponentially. I suggested alternating with Aspect Dr Redless. This product is on the oilier side, so she would use the Rescue in the mornings and Redless in the evenings. The change in her skin was not immediate, you do have to be patient, but it was only a few weeks before a massive improvement could be seen.
Just on Aspect Dr Redless, my daughter has a good male friend who suffered terribly with constantly red skin for many, many years, but upon using the magicness that is Redless, his skin is now as normal as normal can be.
Aspect Dr Redless has been popular for a long time in our clinic…
Back to my girl. Before rosacea hit she had the most beautiful skin, quite fair and pores as tight as my brother in-law. The rest of the family, well we would all just stare open mouthed and turn a shade of avocado. Where did it come from, certainly not her mother! So I was really sad that she had been affected by this condition, but she was kinda ‘oh well’ At the time though, her husband had suffered a terrible accident, his prognosis was potentially a lifetime in a wheelchair, so of course this exacerbated her rosacea, but he was alive, and her skin was of no importance.
Now everyone is in a much better place, hubby is walking again, unaided, and my daughter’s skin is practically as awe inspiring as it used to be, thanks to Osmosis MD Rescue and Aspect Dr Redless
Osmosis MD Rescue neutralises toxins, calms inflammation and boosts skin’s ability to protect itself against uv exposure. Aspect Dr Redless soothes stressed skin, alleviates dryness and is a powerful antioxidant.
Hmm, I did know what to do with this review, I do surprise myself sometimes…. only sometimes.”

Phillipa’s Anti-Red Product Review
“I’ve been trying the NEW We Are Feel Good Inc. After Sun Cooling Lotion this summer. It actually looks like a cream rather than a gel, but still has that ultra cool feel. I’ve managed to scorch myself a few times this summer, always where I’ve missed a spot with my SPF… mostly on the back of my neck. I’m upgrading my hat for the boat to a legionnaires style like my kids next time! My big sunhat always blows off, so I was wearing a cap this summer, bad idea!
Anyway back to the After Sun lotion. I actually first tried this after my kids were sunburnt (not on my watch thankfully) and screamed at using our normal Aloe Vera gel from the chemist. They acted as though it was stinging their skin rather than cooling. In comparison they were both happy to have this lotion on their sunburn. So it was a tick for the kids. Since then I’ve used it a few times on my neck and similarly it’s been great.
It has a cucumber and aloe mixed smell, which is a bit odd to start with, as I’m used to the straight aloe smell. It soaks in quickly to have a dry-touch feel to it. Not quite like a moisturiser, with a very slight tacky feel. Much as you would expect if you had used an Aloe Vera gel instead. I give it a great thumbs up and will continue to have this in by bathroom going forward.
Now, having reviewed this for you, it’s only because I didn’t get around to properly trying the products I’ve been curious about. I keep wanting to start my Osmosis trial using Rescue and record it for you, but I really want some great photos of my skin before I start, so you can see the difference. Sorry, you’ll just have to wait…
Now For The Anti-Red Product Review
There are three other anti-redness products in particular though that are NEW I’ve wanted to try. Mesoestetic Couperand Maintenance Cream is an anti-redness cream for sensitive skin. It’s designed to help your skin heal faster and feel calmer and even focuses on your microcapillaries, which is my issue.
Then there’s Skinceuticals Redness Neutralizer, which is used to combat enviromental factors, comfort skin and help visibly reduce the appearance of redness. We have a sample in the clinic that I have tried and loved, but I haven’t used at home to see the ongoing results. It’s a thin cream that goes a long way. It’s a paraben, silicone and fragrance free formula and has a dry touch feel afterwards.
Lastly Skinceuticals ALSO have an Epidermal Repair treatment for compromised skin, that helps your skin restore its natural barrier function. It’s designed for post skin treatments such as IPL and microdermabrasion, but for those of you with sore skin, you’ll likely love it also. These three really stand out for me as anti-red targeting treatments!!! But, I ran out of time so sorry. Check out the products on our website though, as they’re all filled with great targeted ingredients for felping your facial redness. ”
